The shortsighted bear arrived at a certain place.
The place that had Nightingale tell him.
It was a restaurant of the heart of a mountain.
There was chef there.
Small.
A very small chef.
And the chef who seems to be quite stubborn.

近眼の熊は、ある場所にたどり着いていた。
ナイチンゲールに教えてもらった場所。
山奥のレストランだった。
そこにコックがいた。
小さい。
とても小さなコック。
そしていかにも頑固そうなコック。
ナイチンゲールは頑固者と縁が深いのか。
近眼の熊は、ちょっと物怖じした。
モジモジした熊を見て、コックは話しかけてきた。
「どうした！？」
あぁ、やっぱり頑固者っぽい。
近眼の熊は思った。
そっとナイチンゲールの手紙を差し出す。
黙って頷くコック。
「座れ！」
テーブルを指すように、アゴで合図する。
熊は従った。
しばらく経ったあと、料理が運ばれる。
「食ってくれ」
そう言ったか言わないかで、熊は食べていた。
何しろ空腹だったのだ。
猛スピードで食べた。
食べ終わりに差し掛かり、熊の頭によぎった。
作るのに30分。食べるのに3分… 怒られるか？
チラリとコックを見る。
ちょっと微笑んでいるように見えた。
そしてまた頭をよぎった。
あれ、お代は？
「お代はいらねーよ」
コックがそっと言う。
ほら、やっぱりいい人じゃん。
熊は、鼻を鳴らしながら最後の一口をたいらげた。
